Proverbs 27v17

The Coaching Relationship

One of the many things that sets coaching apart from other relationships in life is the intentionality of virtually every aspect. Coach and client mutually create a relationship (an “alliance” as it is sometimes called) that is uniquely designed to meet the client's specific needs.

The relationship is like the peak of a mountain built upon the base of mutuality between you and your coach.

The relationship, with its attention to your needs and desires, sets you along a path of learning and forward action.

The relationship, with its accountability, summons you to be responsible for the fulfillment of goals that you set for yourself.

The relationship is ongoing and dynamic and can properly be considered as a source of power to transform your life.

In this relationship, we will focus entirely on your agenda. We will focus on your desire to make improvements in your life. We will focus on your taking action to enhance your life now and for the future.

In this one-to-one relationship you will be involved in a process that is safe, supportive, and confidential and focuses entirely on you.

As your coach, I will follow your progress as you take action to achieve goals on your agenda. Through the process, you will be learning more about your strengths and resources for accomplishment as well as about obstacles that might hamper you. Action and learning are two important elements as you move towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.
